$2.50 - Liang Kee Homemade Noodles @ Yuhua Market And Hawker Center

Yuhua Market And Hawker Centre
347 Jurong East Avenue 1
Singapore 600347

A quick post on Ban Mian / Bee Hoon Kuay for just $2.50.

Noodles - Not too bad actually as there is some consistency and not too over or under cooked.

Broth / Soup - Not very flavorful but also not that plain because you have those crab-sticks, egg etc. Its average for me.

Value - I'll eat this when i come here, definitely. Because these days, food prices are rising and with a stall selling $2.50 and below, is worth a support. Unless the food tastes terrible. But this stall has some standards.

Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Claypot Laksa @ Alexandra Village Food Center

Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Claypot Laksa
Blk 119 Bukit Merah Lane 1 #01-75
Price: $3.50 onwards

Ordered the Small or $3.50 version.

What stands out is that it is served in a claypot and the warmth keeps the gravy thick.

The is so much flavor in the Laksa gravy a strong taste of coconut milk also.

It goes very well with the shredded chicken which a lot of other stall don't have in their Laksa. Everything is in place, it's awesome. I'll get the bigger one definitely if i ain't watching my calories!

The Value for this claypot full of sinful goodness is great. Will eat this if i pass by here again and put calorie counting aside.

And the Aftermath is as follows:

after getting some bread, its down to the bottom of the claypot! nothing left.

Fu Zhu Prawn Noodles @ Jurong East Blk 133

Fu Zhu Prawn Noodles
133 Jurong East Street 13

This is just a regular stall, no awards nor featured. So, won't be that detailed compared to others.

Ordered the Prawn Noodle, dried, no beansprouts, no chilli.

Noodles are good, but prawns too small (it's sliced into halves), lard was added but the kick of the lard isn't brought out. The soup was ok but there wasn't a heavy taste of prawns and hours of boiling.

The Value is average. The price is high in comparison to the product.

And the Aftermath is as follows:

I don't eat veggies hence the leftover. And that's lard in the soup.

Lau Phua Chay Roasted Delicacies @ Alexandra Village Hawker Center

Lau Puay Chye Authentic Roasted Delicacies
120 Bukit Merah Lane 1
Singapore 150120
Price Ranges: $3 Onwards

I ordered the Char Siew rice, $3.

The Char Siew taste pretty well. Although the meat is fatty but it isn't oily and easy to chew.
The Rice is normal plain rice, nothing special. Every grain is individually separated of course.
The Gravy is heavenly. It might look very thick and viscous, it tasted just nice. Very flavorful yet not salty and oily. The condiment goes well with the Char Siew and Rice.

The Value is well spent.

And the Aftermath is as follows:

It's good. The rice is left because i hate carbo. But if there is gravy, it would be gone!
Will try out their other specialties again.

Hua Kee Hougang Famous Wanton Mee @ Old Airport Road Food Centre

Hua Kee Hougang Famous Wanton Mee
Old Airport Road Food Centre #01-02
Open 11am to 11pm

Price Ranges: $3 to $5

I ordered the $3 portion without veggies.

The Char Siew is amazing, no fats and chewy bits like some others.
The Wanton is normal, nothing stands out.
The Soup is also the norm, nothing special.
The Noodle is well done, not undercooked nor overdone. The best part is the sauce. It's the Finisher!

The Value for this bowl of noodle is well spent. Buy the $4 portion if you're really hungry.

And the Aftermath is as follows:

Nothing left. Will eat it again.
